OCD Treatment

When your brain demands certainty, nothing ever feels certain enough.

OCD can make you question the things that matter most to you, your relationships, your safety, your health, your morality, even who you are. It isn't simply being neat, organized, or particular. OCD is a cycle of intrusive thoughts, doubt, anxiety, and compulsions that can slowly begin taking up more and more of your life. The thoughts may feel frightening, disturbing, embarrassing, or completely unlike you. And the more you try to prove them wrong, get reassurance, avoid triggers, or finally feel certain, the more stuck you can become.

OCD is highly treatable and treatment should actually understand OCD.

OCD doesn't always look the way people think it does.

It can look like contamination fears, checking, reassurance seeking, mental reviewing, repeating, avoidance, confessing, researching, or needing things to feel “just right.”

It can also center around things that are incredibly personal and difficult to talk about, harm, relationships, morality or religion, sexual themes, identity, health, pregnancy or postpartum fears, and other unwanted intrusive thoughts.

Some compulsions are obvious. Others happen almost entirely inside your head, and sometimes you've been doing them for so long that you don't even realize they're compulsions anymore.

You are not your intrusive thoughts.

Our Approach to OCD Treatment

OCD needs more than reassurance and traditional talk therapy.

Our therapists who treat OCD receive specialized training, ongoing consultation, and supervision in OCD-specific treatment approaches. We understand that repeatedly reassuring you, analyzing whether an intrusive thought is “true,” or helping you eliminate every uncomfortable feeling can actually strengthen the OCD cycle.

Our treatment incorporates evidence-based and evidence-informed approaches including Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP), Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT).

ERP helps you gradually face uncertainty and feared experiences while learning to resist the compulsions that keep OCD going.

I-CBT focuses on how OCD pulls you away from what you actually know and into imagined possibilities, helping you recognize and disengage from obsessional reasoning.

ACT helps you change your relationship with uncomfortable thoughts and feelings so you can make choices based on what matters to you—not what OCD demands.

The goal isn't to never have an intrusive thought again. It's to stop letting OCD decide what you do next.

You deserve a life where your own mind is not the enemy. We can help get you there.
